Privacy policy

This policy describes how Pixelate Tools ("we", "the site") handles information when you visit pixelatetools.com. The tools are designed to run without an account and without uploading your image.

1. Images you open

When you choose a file, the browser reads it on your device. Pixel conversion, palette extraction, charts, and clue text are computed locally in the tab. We do not receive the image, the pixel grid, or the exported PNG. If you email us a picture, that is a separate message you chose to send, and it is not part of the tool.

2. Information stored on your device

Custom palettes are saved with localStorage under the key used by this site. That data stays in your browser until you clear saved palettes, clear site data, or delete it yourself. We do not operate an account system and we do not sync this storage to a server of ours.

3. Logs

The host that serves the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript may keep ordinary server logs: IP address, user agent, the URL requested, and the time. Those logs are used to operate and secure the site. They are not a copy of your image, because the image is not requested from us.

4. Cookies and advertising

Pixelate Tools is supported by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites.

• You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings.
• You can opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info.
• How Google uses data from partner sites is described at Google's partner sites policy.

Those vendors may set or read cookies and may use web beacons to measure ads. Their policies govern their collection.

5. Visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland

Where required, non-essential cookies, including advertising cookies, are used only with consent. The consent message is the one provided through Google AdSense's privacy and messaging controls. You can refuse, and you can change the choice later from that message or by blocking cookies in the browser. The converter still runs if you refuse ads cookies. Blocking cookies can stop saved-palette storage if your browser treats localStorage as part of site data.

6. Children

Pixelate Tools is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child sent personal information to the contact address, email us and we will delete that message.

7. Your requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not keep accounts and do not receive your images, we usually have nothing to attach to you beyond a hosting log or an email you sent. Write to contact@pixelatetools.com and describe the request.

8. Retention and changes

Hosting logs are kept only as long as the host needs them for security and operations. Email we receive is kept long enough to answer and to fix the issue you reported. If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
